Practical and Operational Needs

The weekly collection (often called the offertory) is the "paycheck" for the parish, funding its daily existence and outreach. These funds cover: 

  • Operating Expenses: Essential utilities (electricity, water, heating/cooling), insurance, and supplies.

  • Maintenance and Repairs: Upkeep and maintenance of the physical church buildings, grounds, and facilities.

  • Salaries: Compensation for priests, deacons, lay staff, and administrative personnel.

  • Ministries and Programs: Funding for various parish activities, including religious education, youth groups, music ministry, and community events.
